Dry but chilly in much of the UK

Much of the UK has a fine day but south eastern England remains cloudier and there will be some light rain. The next couple of days look mostly dry in the south and east but there will be rain in the north and west. During the middle part of the week it turns unsettled in all regions.

Sunday starts with some light showery rain near to the east coast of England but elsewhere it is dry. Through the day there is an ongoing risk of light rain in East Anglia and the south eastern corner. At times it could push towards the London area. Other parts of the UK it remains dry and sunny periods develop. It will be quite windy in southern and eastern counties. 

Temperatures range from 8C (46F) in the north to 16C (61F) near to the south coast. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.

Tonight showers continue in the south east. Elsewhere it starts dry but later on outbreaks of rain push across Northern Ireland and into western Britain.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain spread southeastwards into northern England, Wales and the south west. They become increasingly patchy. Central and eastern England remain dry. In southern and central areas it should feel warmer than in recent days.

Unsettled next week

Tuesday is looking dry and bright in most of the UK but there could be a few scattered showers. In the south it should feel quite warm in the sun.

During Wednesday outbreaks of rain push in from the west. Eastern England may remain dry until the afternoon or evening. 

The rest of the week is looking very unsettled and cool. All regions have wet and windy spells as deep areas of low pressure push in from the west.
