Much of the UK will be dry today with warm sunny periods. Many places hang on to the summery conditions tomorrow. During Wednesday it's all change as an area of cloud and rain pushes southeastwards. It is followed by cooler and unsettled conditions which are expected to continue for the rest of the week.

Monday starts dry but there is mist and fog in places. Through the day sunny periods develop widely but there is likely to more cloud in the northern half of the UK than yesterday. Later in the afternoon patchy outbreaks of rain push into the far north. Elsewhere it remains dry.
Temperatures range from 15C (59F) in the north west to 24C (75F) in the south. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.
Tonight persistent outbreaks of rain affect northern Scotland. There could also be some drizzle in other parts of north western Britain. The rest of the country has a dry night but patchy mist or fog returns by the morning.

Tomorrow wet and windy weather steadily spreads across Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Elsewhere there will be sunny periods, but scattered showers are possible in the south and west. Feeling warm again in the sunshine.
During Wednesday a band of cloud and rain pushes southeastwards. Southern and central regions could be wet for much of the day. Scotland and Northern Ireland have brighter conditions but there will be scattered showers. Feeling much cooler than recently.
Through Thursday persistent outbreaks of rain push eastwards across Northern Ireland, Wales and England. Much of Scotland probably remains mainly dry and bright.
The rest of the week is looking unsettled. All regions can expect wet and windy periods. It will often be quite cool with winds coming from a north or northwesterly direction.
