Dry with sunny periods

High pressure keeps the weather settled during the rest of the week. Today virtually the whole of the UK will be dry with sunny periods. It's a similar picture tomorrow. During the weekend the risk of showers increases in southern counties. Temperatures won't be as high as recently but it stays pleasantly warm in the south.

Thursday starts dry. Through the day cloud in southern counties clears to leave sunny periods in virtually the whole of the UK. The exception will be northern Scotland where thicker cloud could bring some light rain. It will be cooler in the south counties than during recent days.

Temperatures range from 17C (63F) to 22C (72F). See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.

Tomorrow there is a risk of rain in the far north. Other areas have a fine day. In southern and central regions it will be warm with temperatures peaking at close to 24C (75F).

Saturday will be dry with be mainly dry with sunny periods. There is a risk of showery rain pushing into areas to the south of London in the afternoon. Warm in the south. 

Little changes on Sunday. In the south showers are possible and in the far north thicker cloud could bring some light rain. Elsewhere it stays dry with sunny periods. Warm again in southern and central counties.  

Forecast confidence for next week is low. There are signs of it steadily turning more unsettled from the west. The south and east have the driest and brightest conditions.
