There will be showers too with most of them in the north and west. After a mixed start next week it could turn drier and much warmer again later on.

Mixed start to next week

The showery theme continues on Monday in much of the UK. It will rather cool for early August.

During Tuesday outbreaks of rain push across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Most of England and Wales should have a dry day and in the south it will be quite warm.

Through Wednesday outbreaks of rain are expected to push across much of the UK. The south eastern corner could remain dry.

During the second half of the week high pressure is expected to build again. It should bring a good deal of dry and bright weather. There is a chance of it turning very warm or hot.
