Mixed outlook

Thursday brings a risk of more persistent rain to southern and central Britain. The north has a mix of sunny periods and showers.

By Friday the showers probably start to become more scattered, so there should be a good deal of dry and sunny periods. It remains warm.

Forecast details for the weekend are uncertain. The latest guidance suggests a ridge of high pressure should keep things mainly dry and bright on Saturday in much of the UK. However, late in the day wet and windy conditions could spread into Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Through Sunday a band of rain possibly pushes southeastwards across all areas.
