Sunday starts with outbreaks of rain in north eastern England and southern Scotland. Elsewhere it is mostly dry. Through the day the band of rain steadily pushes southwards but it becomes increasingly patchy. By the time it reaches southern England this afternoon it won't amount to much. Colder and brighter conditions follow but there will be wintry showers in the northern half of Scotland.

Temperatures range from 7C (45F) in the north to 18C (64F) near the south coast. A strengthening northeasterly wind adds to the chill  See the rain radar for the latest view.
