Monday starts dry in most of the country but there is some patchy rain in north eastern Britain. Through the day showers affect eastern counties and there could be a few heavy ones mixed in. In the afternoon isolated showers may push into central counties too. Cloud amounts vary but there should be a decent amount of sunshine.

Temperatures range 10C (50F) in the north east to 17C (63F) in the south west. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain continue in the south west and to begin with they will be heavy. During the course of the day the rain may extend eastwards across some southern coastal counties but it becomes lighter and patchier. Elsewhere it remains dry and bright. The warmest conditions will be in sheltered parts of the west as a keen easterly wind pegs back temperatures.

Mixed outlook

Wednesday is looking dry and bright. It should feel noticeably warmer than recent days.

The fine conditions last continue in most areas on Thursday and temperatures increase. In the south it could reach 21C (70F). Cloud and outbreaks of rain could spread across the north west later on.

The rest of next week is looking more unsettled. Showers or longer spells of rain are possible in all regions. During the weekend it perhaps turn colder, particularly in the north where showers may turn wintry.
