Saturday starts with showers in the northern half of Scotland. In the rest of the UK it is mostly fine. Through the day there will be sunny spells but showers bubble up. The heaviest ones are likely to be in northern and eastern areas. Much of southern England should remain dry but it will turn cloudier in the afternoon. Patchy outbreaks of rain spread into Cornwall and Devon during the evening.

Temperatures range 10C (50F) in northern Scotland to 17C (63F) in England. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Often dry next week

Monday is looking largely dry but there could be showers in central and south eastern England. A northeasterly wind keeps it quite cool generally. The highest temperatures are likely to be in the west. On Tuesday the shower risk transfers to the south west.

The rest of next week is expected to bring a lot of dry weather, although there could be scattered showers at times. Temperatures steadily rise with the warmest conditions in the west. Later on it may turn cooler again as a keener northeasterly wind returns.
