Much of the UK has fine weather today and tomorrow but patchy spells of rain continue in the north. In the afternoon sunshine it will feel pleasant but under clear skies the nights remain chilly. Thursday starts with light rain in some parts of the north. Elsewhere it is dry and there has been a frost overnight. The rest of the day will be dry with sunny spells in England and Wales. Across Scotland and Northern Ireland patchy outbreaks of rain continue and this afternoon they push into parts of northern England.

Through the weekend cold Arctic air pushes southwards across all regions. Showers develop in the eastern half of the country and they could be wintry at times. Nighttime frosts develop widely.
