Changeable weather continues during the rest of the week. Today showers affect much of the country and tomorrow a more organised band of rain steadily pushes in from the west.  The weekend is looking mixed with showers or longer spells of rain at times. In the north it will often be quite cold....READ IN FULL

Thursday starts with showers in the west but elsewhere it is mainly dry. Through the day heavy showers move across England and Wales. In Northern Ireland and Scotland outbreaks of rain and hill snow push eastwards. It will be windy with gales in the north. 

Temperatures range from 6C (42F) in the north to 10C (50F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight the showers gradually become restricted to northern England. Elsewhere it becomes dry and in Scotland quite a widespread frost develops.

Tomorrow morning scattered showers are likely in England and Wales. The northern half of the UK has dry and bright weather. During the second half of the day outbreaks of rain spread into the south west, Wales and possibly Northern Ireland.

Changeable outlook

The weekend is looking changeable. Saturday should be the better of the two days with scattered showers and sunny spells in much of the country. Overnight and through Sunday a band of rain spreads southeastwards. It is followed by a mix of sunshine and showers.
