Storm Jorge brings very unsettled weather today. A band of heavy rain clears eastwards this morning then further outbreaks of rain and hill snow push into the north west. It will be very windy with gusts of over 70mph in the north west this afternoon. Tomorrow it remains windy and there will be further showers. Next week is looking mixed....READ IN FULL

Saturday starts wet and windy in much of the UK. This morning the rain clears eastwards and brighter conditions return. Through the afternoon heavy showery rain and hill snow push across the northern half of the UK. Showers are also likely in the south west, but much of southern and central England should be dry. Winds ease for a time but strengthen again later with severe gales affecting north western England.
Temperatures range from 5C (41F) in the north to 8C (46F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight showery rain and snow continues in the north. Other areas should be mostly dry with clear periods. It remains windy, particularly in the north.

Tomorrow brings a mix of sunny spells and wintry showers to the north. To the south east of London there is a possibility of more prolonged outbreaks of rain. Elsewhere it should be mainly dry and bright. Windy with gales in northern England and southern Scotland. Feeling quite cold generally.

The showery theme continues on Monday in most areas but there is a chance of more persistent rain in the south east. In the north it will be cold enough for sleet or snow to fall to low levels at times.
Through the rest of next week the unsettled weather continues. Wet and windy spells will probably be most frequent in the north where it could be cold enough for snow at times.
