Friday starts wet in Northern Ireland, north western England and western Scotland. Heavy bursts of rain continue in those areas for much of the day and they probably extends southwards into parts of Wales. To the east and south it should stay mostly dry but after a bright start cloud amounts increase. It will be windy with gales in parts of the north and west.

Temperatures range from 8C (48F) to 12C (54F). See the rain radar for the latest view.

Wet and windy weather moves across all regions on Monday. Brighter conditions follow from the west but showery periods of rain and hill snow could continue in the north through the day. Gales or severe gales are possible in much of the country.

The rest of next week is looking unsettled. At times it could turn cold enough for sleet or snow, particularly in the north.
