Showers fade away today to leave drier conditions. The next few days bring a lot of dry and calm weather as high pressure builds in from the west. Daytime temperatures won't be far from average and nighttime frosts are likely to become more widespread for a while. Tuesday starts with wintry showers in northern and western areas. Elsewhere it is dry. This morning the showers push southeastwards and become more scattered before fading away this afternoon. Sunny spells develop, particularly in northern and western areas. It will be very windy early on.

Tomorrow should be dry in most of the country, although there is a risk of some rain pushing into the north west. Cloud amounts vary but southern and central regions should have a good deal of sunshine. A patchy frost returns overnight.

Thursday should be dry in most of the country. Cloud amounts vary, with central and eastern counties probably having the best of the sunshine. Patchy nighttime frost is likely.
During Friday a change begins to take place. Wet and windy weather returns to western parts of the UK but in the east it remains dry.
Unsettled conditions become established in all regions this weekend. There is the potential for widespread gales or even severe gales.
