Through the afternoon they extend more widely across the north. Over the Scottish mountains periods of sleet or snow are likely. Elsewhere cloud builds after a bright start but it remains mostly dry, although some patchy rain could reach parts of Wales.

Temperatures range from 5C (41F) in the north to 9C (48F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.
