Today brings a mix of sunshine and showers. During the weekend it will be dry in most of the UK and colder than it has been recently. Frost and fog will become quite widespread. Next week high pressure remains in control of the weather but it probably turns cloudier and milder from the northwest....READ IN FULL

Friday starts with heavy showers in parts of England and Wales. Through the day they move eastwards and at times they will be prolonged. Most places have some bright periods too. Showery rain is also likely in the north west of the UK, but elsewhere it will be mainly dry

Sunday starts with a widespread frost and there is likely to be patchy fog too. Through the day sunny spells develop but in places the fog may be slow to lift. Very cold in areas where it lingers and chilly generally.

Another widespread frost is likely on Monday morning in southern and central regions. Through the rest of the day sunny spells develop but fog could be slow to lift again. In the north it should be cloudier and milder with drizzle or light rain.

During the middle part of the week cloudier and milder conditions probably push southwards. The greatest risk of rain is in the north west.
