Today will be mainly dry but another batch of rain moves across the UK tomorrow. Once it clears a transition to a more settled period of weather begins. Wednesday starts wet in the south east. This morning the rain clears to leave dry and bright conditions in most of the country. Showers affect the north west through the day and at times they become heavy. It will be quite windy, especially in the north.
Temperatures range from 7C (45F) in the north to 11C (52F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight outbreaks of rain spread across Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Elsewhere it will be mainly dry.

Tomorrow cloud and rain steadily spreads eastwards. In eastern and south eastern England the rain will be patchy until late in the day but in the west heavy bursts are expected. It becomes windy with gales in the north and west. Mild.

Friday brings a mix of sunny spells and showers. The heaviest ones probably push eastwards across the southern half of the UK. They could become prolonged for a time.
The weekend is looking mainly settled. Scattered showers continue on Saturday with quite a widespread frost early and late. Little changes on Sunday. Temperatures will be lower than recently and not far from the January average.
The latest guidance suggests high pressure will bring a good deal of dry weather next week, although it may stay more changeable in the north west. Nighttime frosts and fog are most likely in southern and central regions.
