Rain returns to the north west of the UK this afternoon but in other areas it will be a dry Friday. Despite that the weather remains unsettled during the coming days. All regions can expect wet spells and at times it could be stormy. Temperatures will often be above the average....READ IN FULL

Friday stats mainly dry and in the north there has been a touch of frost. Sunny spells develop widely early on but this afternoon cloud increases in central and northern regions. Winds strengthen in the north and outbreaks of rain push into the north west of the UK.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain continue in the north and west. They slowly push southeastwards but much of central and eastern England should stay dry. Clearer and colder conditions follow into Scotland. In other areas it will be windy and mild.

On Sunday morning rain quickly clears from the south eastern corner. All areas then have sunny spells but there will be showers in the north and west. Over high ground they could be wintry at times. Temperatures won't be far from the seasonal average.
Monday probably begins dry and bright. Through the day wet and very windy weather spreads eastwards.
Unsettled weather continues for much of the week and there is the potential for stormy spells. Temperatures fluctuate and in the north it could be cold enough for snow at times, especially over high ground. By the end of the period it may be turning drier as high pressure builds from the south.
