Thursday stats with rain and hill snow in parts of northern England, southern Scotland and Northern Ireland. Elsewhere it is mainly dry. This morning the wet weather in the north clears eastwards. Sunny spells develop in much of the country but this afternoon further outbreaks of rain push across southern counties. Strong winds in southern and central areas steadily ease.
Temperatures range from 5C (41F) in the north to 12C (54F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight rain in southern Britain moves away eastwards. In the north clear spells lead to a frost.

Tomorrow starts dry across much of the country. In the north west rain returns in the afternoon and winds strengthen. Temperatures won't be far from the seasonal average.

During Saturday outbreaks of rain extend over much of the north and west. Areas to the south and east have a mild and mainly dry day. It will be windy with gales in places.
The rain clears away during Saturday night. Sunday should be dry and bright in much of the country but in the north west showers develop and they turn wintry over high ground. Cold in the north.
Next week it stays unsettled and there is the potential for stormy spells. Temperatures fluctuate and in the north it could be cold enough for snow at times, especially over high ground.
