Much of the UK has another dry day but the weather will turn more unsettled and milder through the rest of the week. All regions are likely to have wet and windy periods at times. Next week the unsettled theme continues but temperatures take a dip and the risk of snow increases in the north of the UK....READ IN FULL

Wednesday starts wet in the north west of the UK. Other regions are dry but there is fog and frost in southern counties. Through the day outbreaks of rain push across Scotland and north western areas. Elsewhere it remains dry and sunny spells develop as early fog lifts.
Temperatures range from 5C (41F) to 10C (50F). See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight rain continues to affect the north west but elsewhere it stays dry. Clear spells lead to patchy frost and fog in southern and central areas.

Tomorrow it turns wet and windy across much of the north and west. In western Scotland and Northern Ireland outbreaks of rain become heavy. Southern and eastern areas stay mainly dry. It will be milder than recently, especially in the west.

During Friday outbreaks of rain clear southeastwards and showery conditions quickly follow them. It will be quite mild.
The weekend looks mixed. Saturday starts dry but through the afternoon outbreaks of rain spread across northern and western areas. Overnight the wet conditions move southeastwards. Further shower or longer spells of rain are likely on Sunday. In the north it turns colder and over the Scottish hills sleet or snow is possible.
Next week is expected to be unsettled and quite chilly at times. All regions have wet and windy spells and in the north it could be cold enough for snow at times.
