Unsettled start to November

All of the UK will see showers or longer spells of rain during the next few days. After a mild start in the south temperatures drop back towards the seasonal average. Next week the weather remains changeable but it turns colder at times. In the north there could be an increasing risk of snow....READ IN FULL

Friday starts wet in northern and eastern parts of the UK. This morning some brighter spells develop in central and southern counties, but further outbreaks of rain push into the south west. During the afternoon much of the country has rain at times and there will be some heavy bursts, particularly in western areas.

Temperatures range from 7C (45F) in the north to a mild 15C (59F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight it remains wet in Scotland. Drier conditions return from the southwest to other areas for a time but later on further heavy rain pushes into Wales and south western England. It becomes very windy in the south with gales in coastal counties and severe gales in the south west.

UK winter 2019/20 Update 2 [NEW]


Tomorrow wet and windy weather affects much of the country but there will be some brighter spells too. It will be windy with gales in southern counties as well as northern Scotland. Generally feeling quite chilly.

Unsettled and quite cold

During Sunday there will be drier and brighter periods. However, it will be quite windy and heavy showers continue in much of the country. Temperatures won't be far from the seasonal average. 

Monday could bring more persistent spells of rain to southern and central counties. Scotland and Northern Ireland have a cold and showery day.  

Through the rest of the week rather cold and changeable weather is expected. Showers or longer spells of rain continue and in the north there is a chance of snow at times, especially over high ground.
