Low pressure keeps the unsettled weather going for the rest of the week. All regions have showers or longer spells of rain. It will be quite cool and under clearing skies some chilly nights are likely. Next week things become more uncertain....READ IN FULL
Wednesday starts wet in much of the country. Through the day outbreaks of rain spread northeastwards and at times they could be heavy. Brighter skies follow from the southwest and by mid-afternoon it should be drier in all areas apart from north eastern Scotland.
Temperatures range from 10C (50F) in Scotland to 15C (59F) in the far south of England. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight showers develop in the south and west. Elsewhere it will be dry and clear periods may lead to a ground frost in the north.

UK winter 2019/20 Update 2 [NEW]
Tomorrow showers become widespread across southern and central England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Some of them will be heavy and prolonged. Northern England and Scotland should be mainly dry. Temperatures will be similar to today's but it will be windy, particularly in the south and west.

During Friday showers or longer spells of rain affect all of the country. It remains windy and quite cool.
The changeable theme continues this weekend. Saturday brings showers to much of the UK, although they may be more scattered than in recent days. On Sunday outbreaks of more persistent rain are possible in Scotland. Southern and central Britain have sunny spells and showers.
Things become more uncertain next week as high pressure starts to exert more influence. There is a chance of it turning quite cold, but also a risk of very wet conditions due to the boundary between warm and cold air masses becoming close to the UK.
