Wet and windy for many today

Heavy rain affects southern and central regions today. The outlook remains unsettled and as well as wet, it will be windy at times. There is the potential for further problems with flooding....READ IN FULL

Friday starts with wet and windy in the southern half of the UK. To the north it is showery. Through the day little changes, although rain affecting England and Wales slowly spread southwards. The brightest conditions remain in the north. 

Temperatures range from 10C (50F) in Scotland to 17C (63F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tomorrow brings further outbreaks of rain to the south. Later in the day they may spread northwards again into central areas. The north has brighter conditions but there will be showers in the west.

Unsettled and wet outlook

The unsettled theme continues on Sunday with further rain in much of the country. In the south it may turn brighter but it will be windy.

Further spells of wet and windy weather are expected in all areas next week. The best chance of drier spells is in the south.
