Wednesday starts with showers in much of the of the UK. Through the day showers continue and some of them become heavy. However, in some parts of the east it probably remains dry and bright. It will be windy.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain spread across much of the country. Some heavy bursts are likely in the west but in central and eastern areas they will be patchier. Temperatures will be similar to today's.

Unsettled outlook

During Friday outbreaks of rain affect much of England and Wales. Brighter conditions follow into the north but heavy showers are likely in the north west. Generally windy.

The unsettled theme continues this weekend. Showers or longer spells of rain are expected and at times it will be windy.

Further spells of wet and windy weather are expected next week. The best chance of drier spells is in the south.
