Ex-hurricane Lorenzo fades away

Wet weather

The remnants of ex-hurricane Lorenzo are rapidly decaying but they will bring windy conditions and some rain today. The weekend weather prospects are looking mixed with further rain at times. Next week it remains unsettled....READ IN FULL

Friday starts with patchy rain in Wales, Northern Ireland and parts of England. It is windy, especially in the west. Through the day the outbreaks of rain become lighter and move southwards. Brighter conditions follow from the north and winds will be easing.

Temperatures range from 8C (46F) in the north to 14C (57F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

UK winter 2019/20 Update 2 [NEW]


Tomorrow looks mainly dry in central and eastern regions. After a dry start in the west outbreaks of rain return. Later on they become heavier in the north west and overnight they spread across much of the country.

Unsettled outlook

During Sunday rain slowly clears from eastern counties, however East Anglia and the south eastern corner could remain wet for much of the day. In areas areas where sunny spells develop it feels pleasantly warm.

Monday sees another band of wet and windy weather pushing eastwards. Gales are possible in the north and west.

The unsettled theme continues for the rest of the week. Some drier spells are expected, particularly in the south. However, all regions have further rain. Temperatures stay close to the seasonal average.
