Changeable weekend

A mixed weekend is on the way. Saturday looks fine in central and eastern regions. After a dry start in the west cloud builds and patchy rain returns. Later in the day the rain becomes heavier in the north west and it spreads across much of the  country overnight.

During Sunday the wet weather slowly clears from eastern counties. In areas areas where sunny spells develop it feels pleasantly warm.

The unsettled theme continues next week. Some drier spells are expected, particularly in the south. However, all regions have further rain. Temperatures stay close to the seasonal average.
