UK winter 2019/20 Update 2 [NEW]
Tomorrow the remnants of ex-Hurricane Lorenzo approach the north west. A band of cloud and rain associated with it pushes into the west but central and eastern Britain stay dry. In the west and north west it becomes very windy with gales in places. Wet weather pushes southeastwards overnight.
Meteo France Arpege, rain, 16:00 BST Thu 3rd October
Friday starts wet and windy in much of the country. During the course of the day it turns drier and brighter from the west.
A mixed weekend is on the way. Saturday should be fine in central and eastern regions. After a dry start in the west cloud builds and patchy rain returns. Later in the day the rain becomes heavier in Northern Ireland and the north west. Overnight it spreads across the country and on Sunday it could be slow to clear from eastern counties.
The unsettled theme continues next week. Some drier spells are likely, particularly in the south. However, all regions have further rain. Temperatures stay close to the seasonal average.
