Wednesday starts with patchy outbreaks of rain in England and Wales. It's brighter in Scotland and Northern Ireland but there are showers in places. Through the day the rain clears southwards and cloud breaks to give sunny spells. By late afternoon brighter conditions should have reached all of the south. In the north the risk of showers remains. It will be quite windy.

Temperatures range 12C (54F) in the north to 21C (70F) in the south east. See the rain radar for the latest view.
