Changeable weather continues for the next few days. By Friday things begin to change as high pressure builds northwards. It leads to more settled conditions and the days become quite warm by the weekend. Next week it probably stays settled but cooler air may push southwards....READ IN FULL
Tuesday starts mainly dry but there is some patchy rain in eastern Scotland. This morning mist clears and sunny spells develop widely. Through the afternoon cloud builds from the north but it stays brighter in southern counties. In the north west winds strengthen and outbreaks of rain extend across Northern Ireland and much of Scotland.
Temperatures range 11C (52F) in the north to 21C (70F) in the south east. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight wet and windy weather spreads southeastwards across all areas. The rain becomes patchier but in the north some heavy bursts are expected. Clearer and showery conditions follow from the north west.

Tomorrow central and northern regions have a mix of sunny spells and showers. The south has a cloudy and wet start but in the afternoon it turns drier and brighter.

During Thursday outbreaks of rain spread southeastwards across the north of Britain. The south remains mainly dry with warm spells of sunshine.
Some patchy rain is likely in the south early on Friday. It clears to leave a dry conditions in most of the country, but in the far north outbreaks of rain return in the afternoon. Pleasantly warm in the south.
The weekend brings a good deal of fine weather as high pressure builds from the south. It may remain more changeable in the far north west with a greater risk of rain.
Early next week cooler air perhaps move southwards. It should stay mainly dry but the nights are likely to be chilly with a risk of frost in the north.
