The coming week is looking mixed with showers or longer spells of rain at times in all regions. The wettest weather will be in the north with more focus on drier and brighter periods in the south. It will often be quite cool for early September and strong winds add to the autumnal feel at times....READ IN FULL
Monday starts with rain in the north west of the UK. Elsewhere it is dry. Through the day outbreaks of rain spread eastwards across the northern half of the country. Southern and central regions remain dry with variable amounts of cloud and sunny spells. It will be blustery in the north.
Temperatures range from 11C (52F) in the far north west to 21C (70F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight the first band of rain clears eastwards in the north but another pushes into the north west. Southern and central counties remain dry.

Tomorrow wet weather affects the north and west. The heaviest rain will be in the north west. Other areas should be mostly dry with variable amounts of cloud. Temperatures will be close to the seasonal average in much of the country but in central and eastern England it should be quite warm. Overnight the rain spreads southeastwards.

During Wednesday morning outbreaks of rain clears southeastwards. Cool and bright conditions follow it into all regions. Heavy showers develop in the north and perhaps spread into central counties. It will be windy with gales in the north.
Thursday is looking windy and showery. The driest and warmest conditions are expected to be in the south and east of England.
The mixed theme continues through the rest of the week. Further showery spells of rain are likely. The south continues to have the best of the drier and brighter periods.
