Temperatures climbed above 30C (86F) again yesterday but the heat is now being pushed away into the continent. The coming days bring changeable and cooler conditions, although in the south east it remains quite warm at first. The medium term outlook is mixed with the most unsettled weather in the north....READ IN FULL
Wednesday starts with some rain in eastern and western areas. Through the day a band of rain stretching from the south west up to northern England slowly pushes eastwards. The south east is likely to remain mainly dry but there will quite a lot of cloud. Areas to the north and west have sunny spells and showers.
Temperatures range from 15C (59F) in the north west to 24C (75F) in the south east and East Anglia. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight patchy outbreaks of rain clear southeastwards. There will be scattered showers in the west and later in the night wet weather spreads into the north west.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain push across the north and west. The south and east should be mainly dry with sunny spells. It will be cooler than recently, although in the south east it still feels warm in the sun.

Friday brings patchy outbreaks of rain and strong winds to the north. The south stays dry with a few brighter spells but also a lot of cloud.
On Saturday outbreaks of rain push southeastwards but in the south east it could be dry and warm for much of the day. Blustery showers follow and in the north west they become heavy.
Sunday brings a mix of sunny spells and showers. It will be quite cool in all regions.
The rather cool and showery theme continues early next week. The driest and brightest spells are expected to be in the south.
