Fine weather

Fine weather continues in much of the UK today and tomorrow. It will be very warm with hot conditions in central and south eastern England. During the middle of the coming week things gradually change as cooler air returns from the west. The heat may hang around in the south eastern corner until Wednesday....READ IN FULL

Sunday starts dry across the UK with variable amounts of cloud. Through the day it remains mostly fine, although thicker cloud could bring an isolated shower to parts of the west. Many places have sunny periods with the best of them in central and eastern regions. The weather for the third Ashes Test Match which resumes at Headingley today is set fair.

Temperatures range from 22C (72F) in the north west to a hot 32C (90F) in central and eastern England. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tomorrow dry and sunny conditions continue in much of the country, however outbreaks of rain probably push into the far north west during the second half of the day. Temperatures in central and south eastern England exceed 30C (86F). The north and west will be cooler.

Turing cooler through the week

Tuesday sees cooler conditions with showery outbreaks of rain spreading across the north and west. Central and south eastern areas of England have another fine and hot day. 

During Wednesday and Thursday the heat is pushed back into the continent with cooler Atlantic air taking its place. Changeable conditions develop in the north. In the south there could be some showery rain but also dry periods.

Through the rest of the week a cooler pattern becomes established. Showery rain is likely in central and northern regions.
