Very warm weekend

Friday is looking dry in most of the country but rain continues to be a risk in the far north west. There will be sunny spells with the best of them in southern counties. Temperatures in southern England could reach 28C (82F) and 23C (73F) is possible in eastern Scotland.

The weekend is looking dry and very warm for most. Cloud amounts vary but if sunny periods develop for long enough there is the potential for it to become hot in the south with temperatures exceeding 30C (86F). In the north west there is a greater risk of more changeable conditions.

Bank Holiday Monday is more uncertain. Cooler and showery conditions could return southeastwards. However there is a good chance of it remaining mainly fine.
