Meteo France Arpege, rain, 16:00 BST Mon 19th August
On Tuesday the showers probably become increasingly confined to western and northern counties. There will be sunny spells and it should be a little warmer than in recent days.
By Wednesday high pressure builds from the southwest. In the north west there is a risk of persistent outbreaks of rain. Other areas have a lot of dry and bright weather. Temperatures continue to rise.
During the rest of the week there is uncertainty. The latest guidance suggests that more settled conditions will spread northwards. It may become very warm for a time with temperatures reaching 27C (81F) by Friday. Settled conditions possibly last through the Bank Holiday weekend, however there is a chance of low pressure areas bringing showery rain.
