The focus remains on unsettled weather during the coming week with all regions having showers or more persistent outbreaks of rain. It is also likely to be windy at times. Temperatures generally will be a little below average for the time of year....READ IN FULL
Monday starts with showers in places. Heavy showers continue in the south eastern corner this morning and into the afternoon. Elsewhere they become more widespread through the day. There will be sunny spells too with the best of them probably in the west. Winds will be lighter than recently.
Temperatures range from 14C (57F) in the north to 21C (70F) in the south east. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight heavy showers continue in north western areas but elsewhere they gradually fade away. Cloud amounts will be variable if you are hoping to view the Perseid meteor shower.

Winter 2019/20 weather [NEW]
Tomorrow the mixed theme continues. Heavy showers bubble-up again with most of them in eastern and northern areas. In southern England and Wales the emphasis is on dry and bright periods for much of the time, although in the afternoon cloud builds in the south west. It will be quite cool for mid-August.

During Wednesday heavy outbreaks of rain spread eastwards across the UK. They will be accompanied by strong winds in southern and central counties. Brighter conditions should return from the southwest in the afternoon. In the wet areas it will be chilly for mid August.
Thursday is expected to be drier and brighter for most. It should be a little warmer than in recent days, particularly in the south east and East Anglia.
Through the rest of next week it remains unsettled. All regions have further rain and it becomes windy at times. Some drier periods are expected with the best of them in the south.
