Low pressure dominates

By Wednesday low pressure will be centred just to the north of Scotland. It keeps the showery and cool weather going. The warmest and driest conditions will be in sheltered parts of the south east.

By Thursday showers become more scattered. However another low pressure system will be approaching from the Atlantic and during the second half of the day outbreaks of rain push into south western England and Wales. They move quickly northeastwards overnight and are followed by a mix of sunny spells and blustery showers on Friday. There is the potential for it to become very windy in the south with gusts of up to 60mph in exposed coastal counties.

Heavy showers probably continue on Saturday. By Sunday it becomes drier and brighter in the south as pressure begins to rise.
