Low pressure dominates

During Tuesday and Wednesday an area low pressure tracks northeastwards across the north west of the UK and towards Scandinavia. It leads to unsettled weather in all of the country. Showers become heavy and persistent, especially in the north. The warmest and driest conditions will be in sheltered parts of the south east.

By Thursday there will be fewer showers and more sunny spells. However another low pressure system comes into play by Friday and it brings the potential for further heavy rain. Through the weekend it may turn drier and brighter in the south.
