Fair weather

The weather during the coming days remains quite mixed. Low pressure will be centred to the west of the UK, so as is often the case in summer the south east has the driest and warmest conditions. The longer term picture is a changeable one....READ IN FULL

Friday starts with scattered light showers near the East Coast. Elsewhere it is dry. Through the day showers bubble up and increasingly they become focused on northern and western Britain. Most of Northern Ireland and southern England stays dry. Clouds amount vary but many places have warm sunny spells.

Temperatures range from 20C (68F) to 26C (78F). See the rain radar for the latest view.

Winter 2019/20 weather [NEW]


Tomorrow showers become quite widespread across northern and western regions. Some of them will be heavy and possibly thundery. Later in the day more persistent outbreaks of rain spread into Northern Ireland. Central and eastern England as well as eastern Scotland stay mainly dry and bright. It will be quite warm, especially in the south east.

Changeable next week

On Sunday southern counties will be dry and bright. Elsewhere heavy showery rain is expected to spread northeastwards. In Wales it probably turns drier in the afternoon. Temperatures could reach 27C (81F) in the south east.

During Monday wet weather may push across southern England for a time. Elsewhere the showery conditions continue.

The rest of next week is looking changeable with the likelihood of wet weather at times. There will be drier and brighter periods too with the best of them probably in the south. Temperatures remain close to the seasonal average overall but in the south east could be warmer.
