Fine and warm in the south

Fine weather

The south continues to enjoy Goldilocks conditions during the next couple of days. The north will be more mixed with cloudier skies and the risk of rain. This weekend cooler air returns southwards. Next week it could be more changeable for a time but there should still be a lot of fair weather....READ IN FULL

Thursday starts dry across most of the UK but there are outbreaks of rain in the far north. Through the day the rain slowly pushes down over the rest of Scotland. Elsewhere it remains dry but there will be quite a lot of cloud in central and northern regions. The south has warm sunny periods.

Temperatures range from 15C (59F) in northern Scotland to 28C (82F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight patchy rain continue in western Scotland and later in the night it extends into Northern Ireland. Other areas remain dry.

Tomorrow southern and central regions will be fine and warm. Again the north has more cloud and showery rain. Temperatures will be similar to today's.

Cooling at the weekend

During Saturday showery rain and cloud push southwards . There will be sunny spells too and despite temperatures being lower it still feels pleasantly warm in the bright areas. Sunday brings a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. 

Next week the risk of showery rain increases but there should continue to be a lot of dry weather. Temperatures will be close to the average overall, however in the south it becomes warm at times.
