July begins dry and bright across the south but in the north it is a more mixed picture. During the next few days the mainly settled theme continues as high pressure builds from the southwest. Temperatures steadily climb and it becomes warm for a time. However cooler air could return southwards this weekend....READ IN FULL
Monday starts with patchy spells of rain in the north. Elsewhere it is dry. During the day rain in the north turns more showery and sunny spells develop. Southern and central counties remain mainly dry and bright. It will be windy, particularly in the north.
Temperatures range from 12C (54F) in northern Scotland to 22C (72F) in the south eastern corner. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight showers become restricted to Scotland. Under clearing skies it will be cool and in the Scottish glens there could be a touch of ground frost by the morning.

Tomorrow scattered showers continue in Scotland. Other parts of the UK have a mainly dry day with sunny spells. It will be quite windy again, especially in the north. Temperatures edge up a little on today's values and in the sunshine it feels warm.

Wednesday see the fair weather continue in the southern half of the country. In the north there is likely to be more cloud and in western Scotland outbreaks of rain develop. Temperatures continue to climb and reach the low to mid 20Cs in much of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Through Thursday and Friday it is expected to be dry with a good amount of sunshine in the south. It continues warming up and temperatures possibly reach 28C (82F) in the south.
This weekend it stays mainly dry in the south with showers focused on the north. However cooler air possibly pushes southwards.
