Changeable outlook for early summer

During Tuesday heavy showers are expected in much of the UK. The south east and East Anglia may hang on to mainly dry and quite warm weather.

Showery and rather cool conditions continue during Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The best of the drier and brighter spells are likely to be in the south east.

At this stage the weekend prospects are looking very mixed. There are tentative signs of a ridge of high pressure bringing drier conditions for a time, but the general theme remains a changeable and cool one.
