Barbecue Saturday in the south

The meteorological summer starts warm and sunny in the south today but it's more mixed in the north. The TWO forecast covering June, July and August will be online later today. Saturday begins with light rain in the north west of the UK. Elsewhere it is dry. The rest of the day will be fine in southern and central regions. Cloud amounts vary but warm sunny spells develop. The north remains cloudier with patchy outbreaks of rain. It will also be quite windy in Scotland.

Temperatures range from 15C (59F) in northern Scotland to 26C (78F) in the south east and East Anglia. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tomorrow it starts bright in central and eastern England but cloud amounts increase. There is a possibility of isolated thundery showers breaking out in East Anglia and the south east during the afternoon. Elsewhere showery spells of rain are likely and in the north they could be heavy. Wales and south western England later on.

Changeable outlook for early summer

On Monday northern and western counties have showers. Elsewhere it will be fine but cooler than recently, although it stays rather warm in central and eastern England.

During Tuesday heavy showers are expected in much of the UK. The south east and East Anglia may hang on to mainly dry and quite warm weather.  

Showery and rather cool conditions continue for the rest of the week. There are tentative signs of it turning drier as we head towards the middle of June.
