Monday starts with scattered showers but most places are dry. Through the day showers become more widespread and in places they will be heavy. There will be sunny intervals too with the best of them in southern counties where it could be mainly dry. Scotland and Northern Ireland have a chilly day. It will be cooler than recently in England and Wales.

Temperatures range from 10C (50F) in the far north to 19C (66F) in the London area. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Summer 2019 weather [NEW]

Tomorrow it's a similar picture with a mix of sunny spells and showers. A few of the showers will be heavy and it stays rather cool for the time of year. Southern coastal counties probably have the highest temperatures.

Fine by the weekend?

The changeable theme continues on Wednesday. All regions have showers and at times they become heavy. It remains chilly for late May.

During Thursday and Friday it starts to turn warmer and more settled in the south as high pressure builds. Showers become increasingly confined to the northern half of the UK.

The fine conditions probably spread northwards during the weekend. Temperatures may reach 27C (81F) in southern counties by Sunday.
