Mixed Bank Holiday period probable

[Updated 06:50 22/05/2019]

Fair weather

Fine and warm weather continues in much of the UK during the next few days. The Bank Holiday weekend details remain uncertain but computer models suggest that wet weather will push southeastwards during Sunday. Cool and showery conditions are likely on Monday....READ IN FULL

Wednesday starts with heavy showery rain in central Scotland. Elsewhere it is mainly dry with variable amounts of cloud. The rest of the day brings spells of warm sunshine, although an odd shower is possible in northern England and Wales. The area of wet weather in Scotland gradually moves northwards with brighter conditions to the south of it.

Temperatures range from 12C (54F) in the far north to 22C (72F). See the rain radar for the latest view.

Changeable Bank Holiday weekend

Friday could see showers becoming more widespread. Nonetheless there should be warm and sunny periods. Temperatures in the south again climb above 21C (70F).

Saturday is looking fine and warm across the southern half of the UK. Scotland and Northern Ireland may have outbreaks of rain.

Currently showery outbreaks of rain are expected to spread southeastwards across most areas on Sunday. In places they could be heavy. Cooler conditions and brighter skies follow into the north. Bank Holiday Monday will probably be cool and showery in all regions.

Next week the changeable theme continues.
