Tuesday starts chilly and locally there has been a touch of frost overnight. The rest of the day will be dry and sunny in most of the country, although it could be cloudier in the far north west.

Temperatures range from 15C (59F) to 23C (73F). The lower values are expected to be in the south west, East Anglia and the far south east. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Change on the way

During Thursday and Friday changes takes place. The high pressure centre continues to move northwards and that leads to a cooler northeasterly flow developing across the UK. The risk of showers also increases. Despite that there should be a lot of dry weather.

By the weekend showers become more widespread. In the south east there may be some heavy and thundery as warm air feeds in off the continent.
