Temperatures remain disappointing for early May today. However, fewer showers and lighter winds mean it will feel less cold in the southern half of the UK. Unfortunately showery spells of rain become more widespread for the bank holiday tomorrow. Next week a period of very unsettled weather is likely....READ IN FULL
Sunday starts dry and cold in the south. In northern areas there are scattered showers. The rest of the day brings a few showers to England, Wales and Northern Ireland but many places miss them. Scotland will be cloudier with patchy outbreaks of rain, particularly in the north.
Temperatures remain disappointing. Values range from 8C (46F) in Scotland to 14C (57F) in the south west. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight showers continue in the north but elsewhere it becomes dry. In areas where clear periods form a frost returns.

Summer 2019 weather [NEW]
Bank Holiday Monday looks mixed. An area of showery rain moves down into central areas and eastern areas. To its north a mix of sunny spells and wintry showers is likely. Much of southern England and Wales should stay dry. Temperatures stay on the low side.

Showery conditions continue on Tuesday. Temperatures in the south won't be too far off the average but in the north it will be cold.
During the middle of the week areas of low pressure move in from the Atlantic and bring unsettled weather. There is the likelihood of significant rainfall and at times it could become windy. By the weekend a cold northerly wind may return.
