Showery conditions continue on Thursday. The highest temperatures are likely to be in the south east and East Anglia. Elsewhere it will be on the cool side.

During Friday a dramatic change takes place. Cold arctic air sweeps southwards and showers turn wintry even to low levels in the north. A widespread frost is possible overnight.

The Bank Holiday weekend weather prospects are quite mixed. Showers are expected on Saturday and Sunday with temperatures slowly recovering. By Monday there is a risk of rain in the north but the south probably has a dry day.
