Umbrellas replace parasols during the next few days as pressure falls and a trough becomes established over the UK. All regions have rain and it will be windy at times with a risk of gales in southern and western coastal counties. The wettest weather is likely to be in the southern half of the UK....READ IN FULL
Wednesday is off to a wet start in parts of the south west, Wales and Northern Ireland. Through the day a band of thundery rain pushes up from south. The heaviest rain is likely to be in central and western regions with patchier outbreaks in eastern England. During the afternoon it moves into northern England and Northern Ireland. Showery conditions follow on behind it and to the north it stays mainly dry.
Temperatures vary a lot. In brighter parts of East Anglia and the north they will be between 16C (61F) and 21C (70F). In the wet areas and north eastern coastal counties it stays cooler. Check the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight the rain pushes into Scotland before clearing away. In the south another area of wet weather arrives and by the morning it affects much of the southern half of the UK. There is also a risk of rain moving into north eastern counties.

Tomorrow it's a very mixed picture. A band of heavy rain spreads northwards, reaching Scotland during the afternoon. Brighter and showery conditions follow. Winds will be strong in the south west and Wales with gales possible in coastal counties.

During Friday another area of rain pushes eastwards across much of the UK. Drier and brighter conditions follow on from the west in the afternoon.
The weekend is looking unsettled. A spell of wet and windy weather moves eastwards across southern and central regions on Friday night and Saturday morning. In southern coastal counties gales are possible. Cool and showery conditions return behind it.
Sunday could bring a drier interlude with pleasantly warm sunny spells. Later in the day wet weather probably develops in western counties.
The changeable spell is forecast to continue next week. Temperatures fluctuate around the seasonal average.
