The next couple of days bring a lot of fine weather and the highest temperature of the year so far is likely to be recorded. During the weekend things become more uncertain and is the possibility of rain pushing into parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland. Elsewhere the summery spell goes on and it should last through Easter Monday....READ IN FULL
Thursday starts dry across virtually the whole of the UK. This morning mist lifts and sunny spells develop. An odd shower is possible in the afternoon but most places will be dry and bright. Near the east coast it remains cooler and cloudier.
Temperatures range from 12C (54F) along the east coast to 21C (70F) in southern and central England. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tomorrow is set to be dry and sunny in much of the country. The warmth extends northwards across the whole of the UK, although it stays cooler along the east coast. Maximum temperatures should be close to 23C (73F) making it the warmest day of the year so far.

Fine conditions continue in England and Wales on Saturday. Across Scotland and Northern Ireland thicker cloud could bring showery rain.
Easter Sunday is looking very promising in England and Wales with a lot of warm sunshine. In Scotland and Northern Ireland there is a risk of wet weather but it may clear northwards later in the day.
There is some uncertainty about the Easter Monday forecast. However there is growing support from computer models for a continuation of the fine weather in most of the UK. Away from the east coast temperatures widely reach or exceed 21C (70F).
Computer models were pointing towards a transition to a cooler and changeable pattern early next week. The latest data casts doubt on that scenario and suggests an increasing chance of the warm spell continuing for a while longer.
