Warmer weather on the way

[Updated 08:30 14/04/2019]

Fair weather

Most of the UK will be dry and chilly today. During the next few days wet weather affects the west at times but central and eastern areas remain fine. Temperatures will be climbing and by the middle of the week it becomes quite warm. The Easter period prospects are looking hopeful....READ IN FULL

Sunday is off to a dry and frosty start in central and eastern England. Across northern and western areas cloudier skies have held temperatures up overnight. In the far south west of England and western parts of Northern Ireland it is wet and this morning outbreaks of rain continue. Through the afternoon they probably become patchier. Elsewhere it remains mainly dry and bright, although an odd shower is possible.

Temperatures remain on the low side for mid April with values ranging from 8C (46F) to 10C (50F). See the rain radar for the latest view.

Warmer as Easter approaches

During Tuesday outbreaks of rain continue in the west of the UK and they may push a little farther eastwards. The dry period goes on in most of central and eastern Britain. Temperatures rise further.

Through the middle of the week there could be some patchy rain in southern and central regions. However there should be a lot of dry weather. Cloud amounts vary but in sunny spells it will be warm.

Latest guidance for the Easter period suggests the likelihood of pleasantly warm and often fine weather. Low pressure pushing up from France may bring showers but computer models suggest the risk of that is reducing. Daytime temperatures could reach 21C (70F) but nights remain chilly.
