Tomorrow morning outbreaks of persistent rain push into Northern Ireland and western Scotland. The wet weather spreads southeastwards to affect much of the north and west during the second half of the day. Southern and eastern England stay dry and bright.
GFS, rain, 15:00 GMT Mon 1st April
On Tuesday outbreaks of rain clear southeastwards. Colder conditions follow on and heavy showers develop. They bring hail and thunder, and in the north some of them turn to snow.
It remains cold during Wednesday and Thursday. Wintry showers are expected to be widespread and heavy during the days. Over higher ground in central and northern regions there is the potential for significant snow. Even southern counties could see a few flakes of snow. Clear spells at night lead to the likelihood of frost.
The rest of the week is looking changeable. An easterly flow may become established and lead to an increasing chance of dry periods in the north. Temperatures remain on the low side but they probably edge upwards later on.
